How I got the best skin I've ever had!

I have always suffered with my skin. At 28 I still get spots and up until a few weeks ago there was no sign of me having clear skin, ever. I am due to get married on May 24th and 3 weeks ago I had a bad break out, I could count 8 spots at one point. With only 5 weeks til the wedding I panicked and got some Neutrogena Acne Wash from work. What was I thinking? Never again. Within 3 days I had more spots than I started with along with a lovely itchy rash all over my neck and face. Just what you need a few weeks before your wedding. I tried everything to get it back to normal but a week later it was still just as bad. I tried a homemade honey and lemon mask which did help restore some of the moisture and carried on cleansing with Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish (more on that later) but it wasn't until I tried Comvita Gentle Smoothing Cleanser (which contains Manuka Honey) that I got any results. Within 3 days my skin was so much softer and I could see the difference it was making to my skin. 2 weeks on and my skin has never been better. I have clear skin with just a few red marks where the spots used to be. My skin is less oily which means my foundation stays put longer as well. And with just 2 weeks until the wedding I couldn't be happier with the results. This product is so good it's even stopped my usual hormonal breakout I get every month without fail.

As I mentioned earlier I am an obsessive user of Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and to my horror I honestly think this played a big part in my bad skin. I cannot remember a time while using it when I've had good skin. I still think it's a brilliant product but it just doesn't suit my skin at all. It can't be a coincidence that as soon as I stop using it my skin is nearly perfect surely?

My current skin care routine is cleansing with Comvita Gentle Smoothing Cleanser with a muslin cloth followed my Loreal Youth Code Luminize Serum in the day. At night I cleanse twice with Comvita Gentle Smoothing Cleanser to make sure there's no remaining make up and moisturise with Embryollise Lait Creme Concentrate. I use the Comvita Exfoliator once a week and a home made honey & lemon mask 3 times a week.

Have you got any skincare tips? Have you had a bad reaction to any skincare in the past?
